Licence fees

The published fee for a new HMO licence is £815, and £750 to renew. Fees can depend on the number of occupants or lettings, and they are reviewed each year.

Mandatory HMO licence fees (online application), new: accredited landlords £525 + £187 = £712 total; non-accredited £603 + £212 = £815 total. Renewal: accredited £441 + £187 = £628 total; non-accredited £538 + £212 = £750 total. Paper applications add £60. The licence fee is collected in two parts: part one on application, part two once the application is processed (any accreditation discount is applied to part two). Costs spread over the 5-year licence term work out at under £2/week (accredited) or under £2.50/week (non-accredited). Separately, Selective Licensing charges (online, new): accredited £400 + £245 = £645; non-accredited £400 + £440 = £840.

Check the current fee on the council website (gedling.gov.uk) before you apply.
