Licence fees

The published fee for a new HMO licence is £947, and £947 to renew. Fees can depend on the number of occupants or lettings, and they are reviewed each year.

Fee is charged in two parts: a non-refundable initial application fee of £410.00 covering administration, plus a licence issuance fee of £537.00 payable once an officer is satisfied the licence should be granted (a full property inspection is carried out first). Total cost for a new licence is £947.00. The same two-part fee structure applies to renewals (no separate lower renewal rate was published). A licence covers a 5-year term.

Check the current fee on the council website (nwleics.gov.uk) before you apply.
