Licensing schemes in Rushcliffe
Rushcliffe Borough Council operates the national mandatory scheme. We found no additional or selective licensing scheme in force or proposed as of September 2026. Councils can introduce one after a public consultation, so it is worth setting an alert.
Licence fees
The published fee for a new HMO licence is £995, and £995 to renew. Fees can depend on the number of occupants or lettings, and they are reviewed each year.
Fee is charged in two parts (Part A application fee, paid up front; Part B grant fee, paid once the licence is ready to be issued), tiered by number of bedrooms: 5 bedrooms £735 + £260 = £995 total; 6-10 bedrooms £840 + £295 = £1,135; 11-15 bedrooms £900 + £315 = £1,215; 16+ bedrooms £960 + £340 = £1,300. Other charges: licence variation £180, change of details £29, replacement licence copy £29, certified copy of the HMO register (PDF) £50. No separate discounted renewal rate was published, so renewals are charged on the same tiered scale as new applications. A licence covers up to a 5-year term.
Check the current fee on the council website (rushcliffe.gov.uk) before you apply.
